What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must operate, advertise, and promote their business under the name "Buildingstars" without any prefixes or suffixes. However, the franchisee must file an assumed or fictitious name filing where required by applicable law and always use the words d/b/a after the franchisee's legal name.
This requirement ensures brand consistency across all Buildingstars franchise locations, which is a common practice in franchising. By maintaining a uniform brand name, Buildingstars aims to build and protect its reputation and customer recognition. This standardization helps customers easily identify and trust the services offered by any Buildingstars franchise.
While franchisees must use the "Buildingstars" name, they are restricted from adopting "Buildingstars" as part of their corporate name with any modifications, unless it involves logos licensed by Buildingstars. This prevents franchisees from creating confusion or implying an ownership stake in the broader Buildingstars brand. Franchisees need to be aware of these stipulations to ensure they comply with Buildingstars's branding guidelines and legal requirements for operating their franchise.
Additionally, Buildingstars requires franchisees to comply with written policies, practices, procedures, regulations, and standards, which may be changed or modified from time to time. Franchisees must also get Buildingstars' consent before using any advertising or promotional materials. This control over advertising ensures that all marketing efforts align with Buildingstars's brand standards and messaging.
