Buildingstars Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
- G. Inspections of Customer Premises. BUILDINGSTARS may make periodic quality control and customer relations visits to each customer account location of FRANCHISEE.
- H. Discontinue Right to Customer Account. BUILDINGSTARS retains the right to discontinue allowing FRANCHISEE to service a Customer Account at any time if BUILDINGSTARS, in its sole discretion, determines that FRANCHISEE is not adequately servicing the customer account. Factors which BUILDINGSTARS considers include, but are not limited to the following: Customer complaints, unresponsiveness to Customer or BUILDINGSTARS, allegations by Customer of theft or breakage, lateness or failure to complete the job in a professional manner. In such event, BUILDINGSTARS does not have any obligation to replace said Customer Account with another.
What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buildingstars franchisees face certain restrictions regarding their business operations and customer relationships. While the FDD excerpts provided do not explicitly detail location restrictions in Item 12, they do highlight the franchisee's obligations concerning customer service and the potential consequences of failing to meet Buildingstars' standards. Buildingstars retains the right to inspect customer premises and may discontinue a franchisee's right to service an account if the franchisee is deemed to be providing inadequate service. Customer complaints are a key factor in this determination.
Specifically, Buildingstars can terminate a franchisee's right to service a customer account based on factors such as customer complaints, unresponsiveness, allegations of theft or breakage, or failure to complete jobs professionally. If Buildingstars terminates the franchisee's right to service a customer account, Buildingstars is not obligated to replace that account with another. This creates a direct link between the quality of service provided by the franchisee, customer satisfaction, and the franchisee's revenue stream.
Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from interfering with the relationship between Buildingstars and its customers. Franchisees must adhere to professional standards, maintain adequate inventory, and ensure their employees treat customers fairly. They must also avoid deceptive advertising and provide competent service. These obligations underscore the importance of maintaining positive customer relations and avoiding actions that could harm Buildingstars' reputation. Prospective franchisees should seek clarification from Buildingstars regarding specific location restrictions and how they might impact their ability to meet customer service expectations.
