What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering transportation and lodging expenses when attending refresher training programs. Specifically, Buildingstars may offer refresher training programs periodically, setting the time and location. The franchisee must pay for all transportation, lodging, meals, and other expenses for themselves and their employees to attend these programs. Buildingstars also has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the refresher training itself.
This means that as a Buildingstars franchisee, you need to factor in the potential costs of travel, accommodation, and meals for yourself and any employees when Buildingstars schedules refresher training. These costs are in addition to any fees Buildingstars might charge for the training program itself. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisees usually bear the costs of ongoing training and development.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the frequency and location of these refresher training programs to better estimate the potential expenses. Understanding how often these programs occur and where they are typically held will allow for more accurate financial planning. It would also be prudent to ask about the fees associated with the training programs themselves, as Buildingstars reserves the right to charge for the training in addition to covering travel and lodging.
