What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as a Technician Program franchisee, you are not required to purchase equipment and supplies from Buildingstars' affiliates. Buildingstars will provide a list of necessary equipment and supplies to begin your business. While these items may be available for sale by Buildingstars' affiliates, you have the option to purchase them from any supplier. However, the chosen supplier must provide products that meet Buildingstars' standards as outlined in their operations manual.
This flexibility allows you to shop around for the best prices and potentially negotiate better deals with suppliers other than Buildingstars' affiliates. However, it also means you are responsible for ensuring that any equipment and supplies you purchase meet Buildingstars' standards. Failure to comply with these standards could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
It is important to carefully review the operations manual to understand the specific standards Buildingstars requires for equipment and supplies. You should also consider the potential benefits of purchasing from Buildingstars' affiliates, such as convenience and guaranteed compliance with standards, even if it means paying a higher price. Ultimately, the decision of where to purchase equipment and supplies is yours, but it should be made with a clear understanding of Buildingstars' requirements and the potential implications of choosing a non-affiliated supplier.
