What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buildingstars purchased the assets of its master franchisee that operated the Charlotte, NC region in June 2022. This purchase included the unit franchise agreements held by that master franchisee. Buildingstars continues to operate in the Charlotte region.
This type of acquisition is significant for prospective franchisees because it indicates Buildingstars's strategy for market control and expansion. By buying out master franchisees, Buildingstars consolidates its operations and directly manages the franchise network in those regions. This could lead to more standardized practices and potentially increased support for unit franchisees in those areas.
For a potential Buildingstars franchisee, it's important to understand the implications of such acquisitions. It may be beneficial to inquire about the performance of the Charlotte region since the acquisition, and how Buildingstars supports franchisees in company-operated regions versus master franchisee-operated regions. Understanding the franchisor's direct involvement and support structure can be a key factor in assessing the overall opportunity.
