What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is requested by a customer to perform services or sell products that fall outside the typical scope of the Buildingstars system, the franchisee must first notify Buildingstars and obtain approval. Buildingstars states that it will not unreasonably object to the franchisee's request, provided certain conditions are met.
Specifically, Buildingstars will consider the request if the additional services do not interfere with the franchisee's core Buildingstars services. Additionally, the services and products must not be associated with Buildingstars's Marks and System. The franchisee must also be capable of delivering the requested services and products in a competent manner. Finally, the customer must be fully aware that these additional services are not part of the Buildingstars franchise offering.
Buildingstars retains the right to object to future requests, even if they have previously approved similar requests. This means that approval for one instance does not guarantee approval for subsequent, similar requests. This clause provides Buildingstars with the flexibility to manage its brand and service offerings as it sees fit, while allowing franchisees some leeway to meet specific customer needs outside the standard service package.
