What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buildingstars' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are prohibited from advertising in a deceptive, misleading, or unethical manner. Franchisees are only allowed to make promises, representations, and guarantees to customers that are authorized by Buildingstars. Franchisees must also maintain good customer relations and provide competent, prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service. They must also meet the minimum standards established by Buildingstars in the Confidential Operations Manual.

If a Buildingstars franchisee wishes to advertise their business, they must submit all advertising and sales promotion materials, including internet advertising, to Buildingstars for prior consent. If Buildingstars does not respond within 20 days of receiving the advertising materials, the advertising is considered acceptable. Franchisees are also prohibited from using the Buildingstars' marks in advertising without the appropriate copyright, trademark, and service mark registration symbols and without Buildingstars' consent.

These stipulations ensure that Buildingstars franchisees maintain a standard of honesty and integrity in their advertising practices. By requiring prior approval of advertising materials, Buildingstars maintains control over brand messaging and ensures that franchisees do not make misleading claims or misrepresent the services offered. This protects both the brand's reputation and customers from deceptive practices.
