What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are granted the right to operate their business under the "Buildingstars" name. Additionally, Buildingstars may permit franchisees to use other current or future marks, including trade names, trademarks, service marks, and logos, to operate their business, if Buildingstars allows it.
Buildingstars's affiliate, Buildingstars, Inc., owns the principal trademarks and service marks and has an agreement with BUILDINGSTARS that allows Buildingstars to use and sublicense the marks under the Franchise Agreement. If the agreement between Buildingstars, Inc. and its parent company terminates, the parent company will honor the franchisee's rights to use the marks under the terms of the Franchise Agreement. Currently, there are no agreements that significantly limit Buildingstars's right to use or license the marks.
However, franchisees must adhere to Buildingstars's rules when using the marks. Franchisees cannot use a name or mark as part of a corporate name or with modifying words, designs, or symbols, except for those licensed by Buildingstars. The marks cannot be used in connection with the sale of unauthorized products or services or in a manner not authorized in writing by Buildingstars. If Buildingstars decides to modify or discontinue the use of the marks or use additional or substitute names or marks, franchisees are obligated to comply at their own expense and without claim against Buildingstars within a reasonable time of Buildingstars's request.
