What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buildingstars' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buildingstars has no obligation to accept a franchisee's application. Buildingstars retains the right to refuse to grant a franchise for any reason, or even for no reason, and is not required to disclose the basis for its decision. This means that a prospective franchisee could invest time and resources into the application process, only to be denied a franchise without explanation.

This policy is clearly stated in the franchise agreement, and Buildingstars emphasizes that until the franchise agreement is signed by Buildingstars, the applicant is not a franchisee and cannot rely on becoming one. This protects Buildingstars from any claims or expectations an applicant might have before the agreement is finalized.

This level of discretion is not uncommon in franchising, as franchisors often want to ensure that potential franchisees are a good fit for the brand and meet their specific criteria. However, it does place the applicant at a disadvantage, as they have no recourse if their application is denied, even if they believe they are qualified. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider this risk and weigh it against the potential benefits of owning a Buildingstars franchise.
