What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must provide written notice to Buildingstars at least 120 days before the end of their current franchise term if they wish to renew their franchise agreement. This applies to both the initial term and any subsequent renewal terms. This advance notice allows Buildingstars ample time to process the renewal request and make necessary arrangements.

This requirement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as it allows the franchisor to plan for the future of the territory and the franchisee's continued operation. It also gives Buildingstars the opportunity to evaluate the franchisee's compliance with the franchise agreement and their performance over the term. Buildingstars also has the right to decide not to renew the franchise agreement, providing they give the franchisee written notice within 90 days prior to the expiration of the agreement.

It is important for a prospective Buildingstars franchisee to understand this renewal process and mark the notification deadline on their calendar. Failing to provide the required notice could result in the franchisee losing the opportunity to renew their franchise. The franchisee should also be aware that the renewal agreement may contain significantly different terms than the original agreement, and Buildingstars is under no obligation to provide new customer accounts upon renewal.
