Can Buildingstars modify the 'Marks' used in connection with the operation of the Business?

According to Buildingstars' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buildingstars has the right to modify, change, or acquire marks for use in connection with the operation of the franchised business. The FDD defines "Marks" to include service marks, trademarks, trade dress, trade names, and any marks considered confusingly similar, whether existing now or modified, changed, or acquired by Buildingstars or its affiliates. The current marks include "Buildingstars".

This means that Buildingstars can change the branding and trademarks used by franchisees. While the franchisee must use the marks as licensed, the specific marks themselves are subject to change at Buildingstars' discretion.

As a Buildingstars franchisee, you must prominently display the Marks in connection with your business and must not take any action that might detract from the public image of Buildingstars, the business, the system, or the Marks. You are not allowed to display any business name or service not authorized by Buildingstars. This underscores the importance of adhering to Buildingstars' standards regarding the use of Marks and maintaining the brand's integrity.
