Can Buildingstars increase the Insurance Program Fee?

According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buildingstars does have the right to increase the Insurance Program Fee. Currently, Buildingstars offers general liability, workers compensation, and employee dishonesty coverage to franchisees. If a franchisee chooses to participate in this insurance program, they must pay an Insurance Program Fee of 3.5% of Gross Sales per month, which is due by the 15th of the following month. Buildingstars withholds this fee from the total billings collected on behalf of the franchisee.

While the 3.5% Insurance Program Fee is the current rate, Buildingstars explicitly states that they reserve the right to increase this fee. The cost of the insurance is subject to change. Buildingstars also retains the discretion to discontinue the insurance program altogether, provided they give prior written notice to the franchisee.

This ability to change the Insurance Program Fee means that a Buildingstars franchisee could see their costs for insurance rise over the term of their agreement.
