What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee purchases a Technician Program franchise, they may want to purchase the required start-up package of equipment and supplies from Buildingstars' affiliate. While franchisees are not required to purchase these items from Buildingstars or its affiliates, they are obligated to purchase products, services, supplies, equipment, and materials that meet Buildingstars' standards for operating the business.
The start-up package for a Technician Program franchise ranges from $1,000 to $1,050. Franchisees have the option to pay the full amount upon purchase or make a down payment of $100 and finance the balance in three equal monthly payments. Buildingstars will withhold these monthly payments from the franchisee's billings and remit them to the affiliate.
Buildingstars requires franchisees to have all necessary materials and supplies to begin operations within 45 days of completing the initial training program. This includes having all necessary licenses and permits and providing proof of insurance coverage. Franchisees must also comply with Buildingstars' standards and specifications for equipment, products, and supplies, as outlined in the Confidential Operations Manual. This manual may be changed or modified from time to time.
To maintain the brand's goodwill, franchisees must adhere to Buildingstars' specifications when purchasing items with the company's marks, such as signs, stationery, business cards, and office supplies. While Buildingstars does not currently have any approved suppliers, they will provide a decision within 60 days if a franchisee requests approval for a specific supplier, assuming all necessary information is provided.
