What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Buildingstars Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is prohibited from taking actions that could harm the business relationship between a customer and Buildingstars. The agreement explicitly states that any interference with a customer's business or the relationship between Buildingstars and its customers is a direct violation of the franchise agreement. This restriction is in place to protect Buildingstars' legitimate business interests.
This means that a Buildingstars franchisee must be careful not to engage in any behavior that could be seen as undermining Buildingstars' relationship with its clients. This could include disparaging Buildingstars' services, attempting to poach clients for a separate business, or otherwise acting in a way that could cause a customer to lose confidence in Buildingstars.
Buildingstars retains the right to seek legal remedies, including injunctive relief, for any violation or threatened violation of this provision. However, the FDD also states that the restrictions imposed are considered reasonable and should not unduly burden the franchisee's ability to earn a livelihood. The agreement also includes a clause that allows a court to reduce any limitations deemed illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, and Buildingstars has the right to modify the scope of any covenant without the franchisee's consent.
