What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to operate, advertise, and promote their business under the name "Buildingstars" without any prefixes or suffixes, and must use the Marks and System as prescribed by Buildingstars. Franchisees are obligated to file an assumed or fictitious name filing where required by applicable law and always use the words d/b/a after FRANCHISEE'S legal name. This ensures consistent branding and public recognition of the Buildingstars franchise.
Buildingstars franchisees must prominently display the Marks in connection with their business and avoid any actions that could detract from the public image of Buildingstars, the business, the System, or the Marks. They are also prohibited from displaying any unauthorized business names or services at their business location. This reinforces the importance of maintaining Buildingstars' brand standards and preventing customer confusion.
While the FDD excerpt specifies how the Buildingstars name and marks should be used, it does not explicitly state whether franchisees must identify themselves as the owner/operator to the public. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Buildingstars whether they are required to disclose their ownership status in any specific circumstances, such as during customer interactions or on business cards.
