What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to make Brand Fund Contributions on a monthly basis. The contribution is 2% of the Net Sales of the Franchised Business during the preceding month. These contributions are made concurrently with Royalty Fee and Technology Fee payments. The FDD specifies that payments are currently due on the 15th of each month, based on the prior calendar month's Net Sales, and must be made via electronic funds transfer.

Buff City Soap retains the right to increase the Brand Fund Contribution with 60 days' written notice. However, the FDD stipulates that the total of the Brand Fund Contribution and Local Marketing Expenditure requirement will not exceed 4% of Net Sales for the initial term of the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees are also required to spend at least 1% of Net Sales on Local Marketing Expenditures.

Buff City Soap also has the right to modify the due date for Brand Fund Contributions to every Friday based on Net Sales for the preceding week (commencing on Monday and closing on Sunday), provided they give 60 days prior written notice to the franchisee. If a franchisee fails to pay the required minimum amount in Local Marketing Expenditures and Brand Fund Contribution, Buff City Soap has the right to collect unspent amounts and contribute them to the Brand Fund.
