What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must commence construction at least 120 days before the Opening Date, as detailed in Exhibit G. Construction must then be completed no later than 30 days before the Opening Date.

Construction commencement is defined as the start of site work using heavy equipment. If the Buff City Soap location is in an existing shell space, construction begins with the commencement of construction-related work at the premises. The franchisee is required to inform Buff City Soap of the construction start date within ten days of commencement.

Once construction begins, it must continue without interruption unless a Force Majeure Event occurs. This requirement ensures that the Buff City Soap makery is completed in a timely manner and meets the brand's standards for opening. This timeline is important for franchisees to consider as delays can impact the opening date and potentially lead to penalties or loss of revenue.
