What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, construction for a new franchise location must be completed no later than 30 days before the Opening Date. The franchisee is also required to commence construction at least 120 days before the Opening Date, as defined in Exhibit G of the Franchise Agreement.
This requirement ensures that the Buff City Soap location is ready for business in a timely manner, allowing sufficient time for setup, training, and marketing preparations before the grand opening. It also allows the franchisee to address any unforeseen construction delays or issues that may arise.
It is important to note that construction commencement is defined as the start of site work using heavy equipment or, if the location is in an existing shell space, the beginning of construction-related work at the premises. The franchisee must also inform Buff City Soap of the construction start date within ten days of commencement. Once started, construction should continue without interruption, except in cases of a Force Majeure Event, which are unexpected circumstances that prevent someone from fulfilling a contract.
