What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Buff City Soap Franchise Disclosure Document, if a General Manager is no longer able to serve, the franchisee must promptly notify Buff City Soap in writing and designate a qualified replacement within 30 days. Until a replacement is designated, the franchisee must provide interim management of the Makery (store) in accordance with the terms of the Franchise Agreement. Failing to meet these requirements is considered an event of default under the agreement.
This requirement ensures that the Buff City Soap Makery continues to operate under appropriate supervision and in compliance with the brand's standards, even during a transition period. The interim management must adhere to the existing Franchise Agreement terms, indicating that the franchisee or another qualified individual must step in to maintain operational consistency.
For a prospective Buff City Soap franchisee, this means being prepared to handle management gaps swiftly to avoid any disruption to the business. It may involve the franchisee themselves taking on the General Manager's responsibilities temporarily or having a plan in place to bring in a qualified supervisor on short notice. This highlights the importance of having a strong understanding of the business operations and being ready to actively manage the store, especially during unexpected situations. The franchisee should clarify with Buff City Soap what specific qualifications or approvals are needed for interim managers to ensure compliance.
