- Item 17 of the Disclosure Document is amended as follows:
With respect to franchises governed by Minnesota law, we will comply with Minn. Stat. Sec. 80C.14, Subds. 3, 4 and 5, which require, except in certain specified cases, that you be given 90 days' notice of termination (with 60 days to cure) and 180 days' notice of non-renewal of the Agreement.
Item 17 shall not provide for a prospective general release of claims against us that may be subject to the Minnesota Franchise Law. Minn. Rule 2860.4400D prohibits a franchisor from requiring a franchisee to assent to a general release.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Buff City Soap Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 17 discusses the renewal, termination, transfer, and dispute resolution pertaining to the franchise agreement. Specifically for Minnesota franchisees, the FDD states that Buff City Soap will comply with Minn. Stat. Sec. 80C.14, Subds. 3, 4 and 5, which require, except in certain specified cases, that you be given 90 days' notice of termination (with 60 days to cure) and 180 days' notice of non-renewal of the Agreement.
For franchisees in North Dakota, any requirement that the franchisee sign a general release upon renewal of the franchise agreement does not apply to franchise agreements covered under North Dakota law.
For Maryland franchisees, Item 17(b) is modified to also provide, "The general release required as a condition of renewal, sale, and/or assignment/transfer shall not apply to any liability under the Maryland Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law."
