Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Your Franchised Business must be open and operating by no later than 12 months from the date you execute your Franchise Agreement. Factors that may affect that period include obtaining site acceptance from us, making any necessary financial arrangements, obtaining required permits, designing the space, ordering the equipment and inventory, and obtaining necessary labor and materials. What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Buff City Soap FDD, a franchisee must have their location open and operating within 12 months of signing the Franchise Agreement. However, several factors can influence this timeline. These include securing site acceptance from Buff City Soap, arranging the necessary financing, obtaining required permits, designing the retail space, and ordering equipment, inventory, labor, and materials.

Site selection is a critical factor. Buff City Soap does not select the site for the Franchised Business. The franchisee is responsible for selecting a site that meets Buff City Soap's criteria, which include demographic characteristics, traffic patterns, parking, neighborhood character, competition, and the site's physical attributes. Buff City Soap has the right to approve or reject the proposed site based on these criteria. Franchisees must propose a site within 60 days of the Franchise Agreement's effective date and secure the right to occupy it within 30 days of Buff City Soap's approval. Failure to meet these deadlines can lead to the termination of the Franchise Agreement.

The initial corporate training program may also affect the opening timeframe. The time and subject allocation of the initial corporate training program may vary based on factors such as the experience of the employees being trained. Failure to show competency in pre-training material may result in not being able to attend initial corporate training and may result in an additional training fee of $5,000.00.

Therefore, prospective Buff City Soap franchisees should carefully consider these factors and plan accordingly to ensure they can meet the 12-month deadline for opening their franchise.
