Before you open your Franchised Business:
We will designate the territory for your Franchised Location. (Franchise Agreement Sections 2 and 3)
We will provide you with advice and consultation in the selection of sites for Franchised Location(s) through the use of the site selection and evaluation forms, criteria and supporting materials that we make available to franchisees. (Franchise Agreement Section 5(a); Development Agreement Section 5(a))
We will review the information you submit for each proposed site for a Franchised Location, conduct any investigation of the proposed site we deem appropriate to evaluate the site, and accept or reject the site. (Franchise Agreement Section 5(b); Development Agreement Section 5(b))

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buff City Soap will designate a territory for your Franchised Location before you open your Franchised Business. This is part of the pre-opening assistance that Buff City Soap provides to franchisees.
Site selection is a mutual process. While Buff City Soap designates the territory, you, as the franchisee, are responsible for selecting the specific site for your location and submitting the required information for approval. The proposed site must meet Buff City Soap's site selection criteria, which includes factors such as demographics, traffic patterns, parking, neighborhood character, competition, and the site's physical characteristics. Buff City Soap has the right to approve or reject your site selection based on these criteria.
Buff City Soap will evaluate how the site enhances brand awareness and goodwill in your market. The proximity of the site to the Protected Area boundaries and other existing or proposed Buff City Soap locations may also be considered. If Buff City Soap does not respond within 30 days of your submission, the site is considered rejected. It is important to note that the site selection factors may change between signing a Development Agreement and submitting the site proposal.
