What criteria does Buff City Soap use to define a 'mature outlet' in Item 19?
Buff_City_Soap Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
In this Item 19, we include data for Makeries open and operating for at least 18 months, which we consider to be mature outlets. As of December 29, 2024, there were 233 mature franchised BCS Makeries (92.8% of the total) and 8 mature company-owned BCS Makeries (88.9% of the total). One mature company-owned BCS Makery closed in 2025, but we have included data for that BCS Makery in this Item 19 because it was open and operating for at least 18 months prior to, and as of, December 29, 2024.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'mature outlet' is defined as a location that has been open and operating for at least 18 months. As of December 29, 2024, Buff City Soap considered 233 of its franchised locations (92.8% of the total) and 8 of its company-owned locations (88.9% of the total) to be mature based on this criterion.
Buff City Soap uses the data from these mature outlets in Item 19 to provide financial performance representations. This information is intended to give prospective franchisees an idea of the potential financial performance they might expect from a Buff City Soap franchise. The FDD includes data from a location that closed in 2025, as long as it was open for at least 18 months prior to December 29, 2024.
It is important for potential franchisees to understand how Buff City Soap defines a mature outlet because the financial performance data presented in Item 19 is based on these locations. This definition ensures that the data reflects outlets that have had sufficient time to establish themselves in the market. However, as the FDD clearly states, past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and individual results may vary.
