What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buff City Soap's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Collateral Logo Merchandise' does include apparel. The FDD defines 'Collateral Logo Merchandise' as all merchandise that Buff City Soap authorizes its franchisees to offer for sale from the Makery (shop). This merchandise displays any of the Buff City Soap trademarks and includes, without limitation, apparel, bath accessories, mugs and cups, drinkware, laundry accessories, and other functional and promotional items bearing any Marks or incorporating any Intellectual Property.
This means that franchisees are authorized to sell apparel with the Buff City Soap logo, along with other branded merchandise. This provides an additional revenue stream for franchisees beyond the core soap products. It also helps to promote the Buff City Soap brand and create a consistent brand image.
Prospective franchisees should consider the potential costs associated with purchasing and stocking this collateral logo merchandise. They should also evaluate the demand for such items in their local market to ensure that they can generate sufficient sales to make it a worthwhile investment. It is important to note that franchisees are only authorized to sell merchandise that Buff City Soap has approved.
