What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, several states require a rider to the Budget Rent A Car System Confidentiality Agreement. These states include Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Maryland, and Washington.
Specifically, if a prospective Budget franchisee is a resident of Illinois, or if the Budget franchise they will operate is located in Illinois, and the offering or sales activity occurred or will occur in Illinois, a rider is required. Similarly, if the Budget franchise is located in Minnesota, or any offering or sales activity related to the License Agreement occurred in Minnesota, a rider is necessary.
For New York, if the Budget franchise that the Licensee will operate is located within the State of New York and Licensee is a resident of the State of New York; and/or any of the offering or sales activity with respect to that License Agreement occurred in the State of New York, a rider is required. These riders ensure that the franchise agreement complies with the franchise laws of these specific states.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review these requirements and consult with legal counsel to ensure full compliance with all applicable state laws when entering into a franchise agreement with Budget.
