What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a PC with emulation software is approved terminal equipment for accessing the protocol. The document specifies that Schedule D contains the currently approved equipment for MPLS and Aruba/DSL Connectivity. Licensees may only use equipment that is on ABCR's list of approved equipment, as detailed in Schedule 1 of the Wizard System Network Access Addendum for internet connectivity.
Budget requires that all computer hardware and software used by the franchisee be fully compatible with Budget's computer systems and strictly conform to the brand's standards. Franchisees are responsible for purchasing, installing, and implementing all required accounting, inventory control, sales register, reservations, and security programs according to these standards. Any new or modified systems must be installed within the timeframe specified by Budget.
To maintain system compatibility, all equipment must be approved by ABCR before installation. If a franchisee uses unapproved equipment or fails to maintain it according to system standards and vendor specifications, they will be responsible for any resulting damage or expenses incurred by ABCR and other system users. In such cases, ABCR has no obligation to perform under the agreement, and the franchisee must correct any nonconformity at their own expense as specified by ABCR.
Prior to implementing a Thin Client, a Site Survey must be conducted by an ABCR-approved third-party vendor to determine the network and physical needs of the franchisee's location. The fees for this Site Survey are paid directly to the vendor by the franchisee, as outlined in Schedule B. Budget also offers system training and on-site assistance for an additional charge to ensure the proper operation of the franchisee's business within the system.
