What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for maintaining their signage. Specifically, Budget requires that franchisees maintain, in a timely manner, the paint, lighting, and materials of their signage. The FDD also specifies that each Budget location must have at least one interior and one exterior sign, with the exterior sign being the largest size and type that is reasonably and lawfully permissible.

This obligation ensures that all Budget locations present a consistent and professional image to the public. Proper maintenance of signage is crucial for brand recognition and attracting customers. Neglecting this responsibility could lead to a negative perception of the franchise and potential non-compliance issues with Budget's standards.

Prospective franchisees should factor in the ongoing costs associated with signage maintenance when evaluating the financial viability of the franchise. These costs can include expenses for paint, replacement bulbs or lighting fixtures, and repairs to the sign materials. Budget franchisees should also familiarize themselves with local ordinances regarding signage to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
