What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Budget franchise agreement grants franchisees access to the Budget Manual, which contains policies and procedures, standards, specifications, and requirements related to the rental business. The manual may be revised, changed, modified, or supplemented by Budget at any time, with modifications becoming effective 30 days after written notice to the franchisee, unless a longer period is specified. The Budget manual also includes training manuals, development manuals, and other business manuals for use by Budget licensees. The manual may be in printed or electronic format, including audiotapes, videotapes, information available on an internet site, or other electronic media.
However, the excerpt from the FDD does not specifically mention whether the Budget manual contains information about franchisee absence or leave policies. A prospective franchisee should review the Budget manual carefully and ask the franchisor directly whether the manual addresses policies and procedures related to franchisee absence or leave, and if not, where that information can be found.
Understanding the policies around absence and leave is crucial for a franchisee to ensure smooth business operations and compliance with Budget's standards. It is important to clarify these details before entering into a franchise agreement.
