What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Budget retains the right to mandate that franchisees connect to other reservation systems that Budget designates. Furthermore, Budget can require franchisees to process all rental transactions through these designated systems. This gives Budget significant control over the technology and systems used within the franchise network.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they must be prepared to integrate their operations with any reservation systems Budget deems necessary. This could involve additional costs for hardware, software, or training to ensure compatibility. Franchisees must also use rental software from designated providers in conjunction with the Reservation System or any other reservation system that Budget designates.
It is important for potential franchisees to understand that Budget has the discretion to modify or institute new reservation systems. Franchisees are obligated to comply with the terms and conditions of any rental system agreement with Budget or a related entity. This includes adhering to rental rates placed in the reservation system and accepting reservations received through the system from other network operators.
This requirement ensures uniformity and integration across the Budget network, allowing for centralized control and potentially improving customer service and brand consistency. However, it also means franchisees have limited autonomy in choosing their technology solutions and must be prepared for potential system changes and associated costs.
