What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Custodial City is responsible for contacting the appropriate party regarding expiring vehicle registrations. If the vehicle is owned by a licensee, the Custodial City must contact the Owning City. However, if the vehicle is a corporate vehicle, the Custodial City should contact the Fleet Processing Department at reg.renewal@avisbudget.com.

This distinction is important for Budget franchisees because it dictates the process for maintaining vehicle registrations, which is a critical aspect of operating a rental car business. Failing to properly handle vehicle registrations could lead to compliance issues and potential disruptions in service.

By clearly outlining these responsibilities, Budget ensures that its franchisees understand the proper procedures for managing vehicle registrations, contributing to the overall efficiency and compliance of the franchise system.
