What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Budget's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when determining whether to approve a location for a Budget franchise, Budget will consider factors such as traffic count, demographics, rent, suitability for use as a Budget Franchise, exposure, parking, and proximity to the central business district. Budget's Licensee Relations Department will consult with and assist the franchisee in approving the location. However, Budget does not own or lease the locations at which Budget Franchises operate.

This means that prospective franchisees need to carefully evaluate potential locations based on these criteria. High traffic, favorable demographics, reasonable rent, and good visibility are all important for success. The location must also be suitable for a car rental business and have adequate parking. Proximity to the central business district can also be a plus.

Budget usually makes a decision on location approval within two weeks. The franchisee cannot open a location without Budget's approval. This highlights the importance of working closely with Budget's Licensee Relations Department to find a location that meets their criteria. Franchisees should be prepared to present data and analysis to support their location selection.
