What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brueggers Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must enroll a qualified replacement in the initial training program within 30 days if a Certified Manager ceases active management or employment at the Bakery, or if Brueggers Bagels disapproves of any of the Certified Managers. The replacement must be reasonably acceptable to Brueggers Bagels and must attend and successfully complete the basic management training program as soon as it is practical to do so.
Brueggers Bagels provides franchisees with two replacement training sessions during the term of the Franchise Agreement, accommodating up to three individuals during each session. If a franchisee needs to send more than three individuals to a replacement training session or requires more than two replacement training sessions, they must pay Brueggers Bagels a training fee of $1,600 for each additional individual. This payment must be made in full before the replacement training starts, in addition to covering all other expenses incurred by Brueggers Bagels in connection with the training, such as transportation, lodging, and meals.
This policy ensures that each Brueggers Bagels location maintains a trained and approved management team, which is crucial for upholding the brand's standards and operational consistency. The cost associated with additional training beyond the provided sessions is a factor prospective franchisees should consider, as unexpected management changes could lead to additional expenses. It is common in the franchise industry for franchisors to require ongoing training and to charge fees for additional training sessions beyond what is initially provided.
