What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brueggers Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transferor must pay a transfer fee equal to 50% of the initial franchise fee that Brueggers Bagels is charging for new Bakery franchises at the time of the transfer.
To illustrate, if the initial franchise fee for a new Brueggers Bagels Bakery franchise is $30,000 at the time of the transfer, the transfer fee would be $15,000 (50% of $30,000). This fee must be paid by the transferor, the existing franchisee selling their business, as a condition of the transfer.
This transfer fee is in addition to other conditions that must be met for a transfer to be approved, such as satisfying all outstanding obligations to Brueggers Bagels, ensuring the transferee meets Brueggers Bagels' standards, and obtaining Brueggers Bagels' approval of the transfer. The transferee may also need to complete training programs at their own expense.
