What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brueggers Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the renewal fee is determined by a few different factors. For a standard franchise agreement, the renewal fee is 10% of the then-current initial franchise fee. For a Licensed Bakery, the renewal fee is the greater of 10% of the then-current initial license fee or $1,250.
This fee is due when you sign the successor Franchise Agreement or License Agreement. This occurs if you choose to continue operating the Bakery upon the expiration of your initial Franchise Agreement or License Agreement, and if Brueggers Bagels approves your renewal application. At that time, you must sign Brueggers Bagels' then-current form of Franchise Agreement or License Agreement, as applicable.
It is important to note that the Development Agreement is not renewable. This means that if a franchisee has a Development Agreement, they cannot renew that specific agreement. They would need to negotiate a new agreement with Brueggers Bagels if they wish to continue developing new locations after the initial agreement expires.
