What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brueggers Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program for the designated General Manager should not exceed seven weeks. This training is provided by Brueggers Bagels and is deemed reasonably necessary for the franchisee to open and operate the Bakery in accordance with the established standards, as well as to train other employees. The training session's cost is included in the initial License Fee, but the franchisee is responsible for covering all traveling and hotel expenses incurred during the training.
Brueggers Bagels requires the franchisee to send two designated managers to this initial training. If the franchisee wishes to send additional individuals to the initial training program, they will incur a training fee of $850 for each additional person. Furthermore, all expenses, including travel, room and board, salaries, and benefits, associated with the training of the designated manager are the sole responsibility of the franchisee.
If the manager who received the initial training leaves their position during the term of the agreement, the franchisee must promptly replace them and ensure the new manager completes the training to Brueggers Bagels' satisfaction within 60 days of the previous manager's departure. The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with this replacement training. This ensures that the Brueggers Bagels location maintains a trained manager who can uphold the brand's standards and operational procedures.
