Before your first Bakery opens, we will:
- g) Provide Management Training for two individuals. See below under "Training." (Sections 4.3 and 7 of the Franchise Agreement; Section 5.1 of the License Agreement). In addition, for a Licensed Bakery, upon reasonable request, we will provide a reasonable amount of training or assistance to additional personnel at your sole cost and expense. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Brueggers Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company provides management training for two individuals before the opening of the first bakery. Specifically, Brueggers Bagels offers this training to the franchisee or their Operating Partner, along with one full-time general manager, also known as the Store Manager.
Brueggers Bagels also provides the option to train additional Certified Managers or shift supervisors for a fee. All training sessions take place at the Brueggers Bagels support center in Denver, Colorado, or at a designated training store. The Store Manager is required to have at least three years of experience in a management role within a quick-service or fast-casual restaurant setting.
The initial training program covers various subjects, including franchisee orientation (15 hours of classroom training), bakery management (50 hours of classroom training and 200-300 hours of on-the-job training), baker training (4 hours of classroom training and 60-80 hours of on-the-job training), and new bakery opening procedures (120 hours of on-the-job training). The franchisee is responsible for all expenses associated with attending the training, such as transportation, lodging, meals, wages, benefits, and worker's compensation insurance.
