ystem franchisees (the "Initial Training Program"). We will also provide the ongoing training that we periodically deem appropriate, at such places and times that we deem proper. Our training programs will be conducted in the English language. We will be responsible for the cost of instruction and materials (except as set forth in Section 7.2.4 below).
- 7.2. Your Training and Personnel Obligations. Before opening the Bakery, you (or, if Franchisee is an entity, your Operating Partner) and up to one full-time general manager responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Bakery (the "Store Manager") must attend and successfully complete, to our satisfaction, the initial training program we offer.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Brueggers Bagels Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee (or the Operating Partner if the franchisee is an entity) and up to one full-time general manager, referred to as the "Store Manager", are required to attend and successfully complete the initial training program. The Store Manager must have at least three years of experience working in a management capacity in a quick service or fast casual restaurant and may also serve as the Operating Partner.
Brueggers Bagels allows franchisees to send up to two individuals, including the Certified Managers, to the initial training program. If a franchisee wishes to send more than two individuals, they must pay a training fee of $1,600 for each additional person. This fee must be paid in full before the training begins.
The Bakery must be under the active, full-time management of either the Operating Partner or a Certified Manager. If a Certified Manager leaves their position, the franchisee must enroll a qualified replacement in the initial training program within 30 days. Brueggers Bagels provides two replacement training sessions during the agreement term, each for up to three individuals. Additional replacement training sessions or trainees incur a fee of $1,600 per person, plus all associated expenses.
