What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brueggers Bagels's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee of $35,000 is due upon signing the Franchise Agreement. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as the initial fee compensates the franchisor for granting the franchise rights and providing initial support.

It's important to note that this fee is generally non-refundable, so prospective Brueggers Bagels franchisees should conduct thorough due diligence before signing the agreement. The FDD also mentions a Development Agreement, where a credit of $10,000 per bakery to be developed may be applied towards the initial franchise fee, provided the franchisee is in compliance with the Development Agreement and all Franchise Agreements. The minimum number of Bakeries required to develop is two unless otherwise agreed upon.

Therefore, a prospective franchisee should carefully review Item 5 of the FDD, which contains more details about fees and payments. Understanding the terms and conditions surrounding the initial franchise fee and any potential credits is crucial before making a commitment to Brueggers Bagels.
