What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Brueggers Bagels Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use specific computer systems and software that Brueggers Bagels specifies. Brueggers Bagels has the right to mandate the brands, types, makes, and models of communication and computer systems that franchisees must use. This includes hardware used between bakeries and in accordance with Brueggers Bagels' standards.

The required technology includes back-office and point-of-sale (POS) systems for data, audio, and video transmission. It also covers physical and electronic security measures, printers, digital menu boards, and archival backup systems. The internet access mode is also part of these requirements.

This means a prospective Brueggers Bagels franchisee must be prepared to invest in and maintain the specific technology infrastructure that the franchisor mandates. This ensures uniformity and compatibility across all Brueggers Bagels locations, but it also means franchisees have limited flexibility in choosing their own systems. The franchisee will need to stay updated with any technology upgrades or changes that Brueggers Bagels requires, which could involve additional costs.
