What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Brueggers Bagels's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor seeks to confirm that the Developer fully understands that entering into a Development Agreement or Franchise Agreement to own and operate a Brueggers Bagels franchise is a business decision carrying associated risks. Brueggers Bagels wants to verify that the Developer and its owners are not depending on any unauthorized oral, written, or visual statements, representations, promises, or assurances.

This acknowledgement is crucial for Brueggers Bagels as it aims to ensure that franchisees are making informed decisions based on the official documentation provided in the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and not on any potentially misleading or inaccurate information from other sources. By having the Developer acknowledge this, Brueggers Bagels seeks to mitigate future legal disputes or misunderstandings regarding the terms and conditions of the franchise agreement.

For a prospective Brueggers Bagels franchisee, this acknowledgement underscores the importance of thoroughly reviewing the FDD and seeking independent advice from legal and financial professionals. It highlights that the success of the franchise depends on the franchisee's business acumen and willingness to accept the inherent risks of business ownership. Franchisees should not rely on any promises or representations made outside of the official FDD.

In essence, this requirement emphasizes transparency and due diligence in the franchising process, protecting both Brueggers Bagels and the franchisee by ensuring a clear understanding of the franchise agreement and the associated responsibilities and risks.
