What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all notices from the sublessor to the sublessee must be sent via registered or certified mail. The notice should be addressed to the sublessee at the physical location of the premises. However, the sublessee can provide a different address in writing to the sublessor for this purpose, and the sublessor would then be obligated to use that updated address.

Conversely, any notices from the sublessee to the sublessor must also be sent via registered or certified mail. Unless otherwise specified in writing by the sublessor, the default address for the sublessor is 55 East Park Boulevard, Villa Park, Illinois 60181.

This requirement for registered or certified mail ensures that both parties have proof that the notice was sent and received, which can be important in resolving disputes or demonstrating compliance with the terms of the sublease agreement. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising and commercial leasing to maintain a clear record of communication.
