What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for ensuring their employees maintain a neat and clean appearance. Employees must also adhere to the dress and/or uniform standards specified by Browns Chicken, which may be updated periodically. This requirement is part of the broader obligation for franchisees to operate their stores according to Browns Chicken's standards.

This means that a Browns Chicken franchisee must enforce specific guidelines regarding employee attire and grooming. These standards are set by Browns Chicken and communicated to the franchisee. The franchisee is responsible for ensuring all employees comply with these standards, which are likely detailed in the operating manual or other written communications from the franchisor.

Additionally, Browns Chicken prohibits employees from wearing or displaying items that could be offensive to customers or other employees. Examples include items expressing religious, political, or personal views. Browns Chicken retains the final say in determining what constitutes a potentially offensive item. This policy aims to maintain a neutral and respectful environment within the store.

Therefore, prospective Browns Chicken franchisees should be prepared to implement and enforce Browns Chicken's standards for employee appearance, dress, and conduct. They should also be aware that these standards may change over time and that Browns Chicken has the authority to determine what is considered offensive in the store environment.
