What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with training programs. Specifically, the franchisee must pay the salary, travel, living, and other expenses for themselves and their employees while attending Browns Chicken's training programs.

This means that prospective Browns Chicken franchisees need to factor in these training-related costs when budgeting for their initial investment. These expenses can vary depending on the number of employees sent for training, the duration of the training program, and the location where the training is conducted. Browns Chicken determines the amount charged for training additional employees.

Browns Chicken conducts its training programs at a Browns Chicken restaurant, at a location determined by them. The training includes classroom and on-the-job components, along with any additional instruction Browns Chicken deems necessary. The training is led by Tim Kennefick, who has over 20 years of experience operating Browns Chicken restaurants.

While Browns Chicken may assist new franchisees with employee training before the store opening, they are not obligated to do so. Franchisees are always responsible for hiring and training all store employees.
