Browns_Chicken Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
The Store shall at all times be under the direct, on-premises supervision of Franchisee or, if permitted by Brown, a manager designated by Franchisee who has satisfactorily completed the training program required for franchisees and managers of BROWN'S Stores. Franchisee shall keep Brown informed at all times of the identity of any employee acting as manager or co-manager of the Store. Franchisee agrees that it will at all times faithfully, honestly and diligently perform its obligations hereunder. The person who shall be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Store shall not engage in any business or other activities directly or indirectly that require substantial management responsibility or time commitments, or that otherwise may conflict with Franchisee's obligations hereunder. Franchisee or his manager shall hire all employees of the Store and shall be exclusively responsible for the terms of their employment and compensation and for the proper training of such employees. If Franchisee requests Brown to train Franchisee's manager, Franchisee shall pay Brown its then-current Manager Training Fee. Franchisee shall establish at the Store for all employees a training program meeting the standards prescribed by Brown. Franchisee shall require all employees to maintain a neat and clean appearance and to conform to the standards of dress specified by Brown from time to time. If the Store at any time is not being managed by Franchisee or a qualified, trained, full-time manager, Brown may appoint a manager for the Store and charge a reasonable management fee during the period in which Brown manages the Store.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the store must be under the direct supervision of the franchisee or a designated manager who has satisfactorily completed the required training program for Browns Chicken stores. The franchisee must keep Browns Chicken informed of the identity of any employee acting as manager or co-manager. If the franchisee requests Browns Chicken to train the franchisee's manager, the franchisee must pay Browns Chicken's then-current Manager Training Fee.
The franchisee is also required to establish a training program for all employees that meets the standards prescribed by Browns Chicken. Furthermore, the franchisee must ensure that all employees maintain a neat and clean appearance and conform to the dress standards specified by Browns Chicken.
If the store is not being managed by the franchisee or a qualified, trained, full-time manager, Browns Chicken has the option to appoint a manager for the store and charge a reasonable management fee during the period in which Browns Chicken manages the store. This ensures that all Browns Chicken locations maintain a consistent level of service and operational standards, regardless of the franchisee's or their manager's presence.
