What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Browns Chicken Franchise Disclosure Document, Rider A to the standard franchise agreement defines the franchisee's territory. This territory consists of a geographic area within a 5-mile radius (as the crow flies) of the premises location.
The purpose of this rider is to grant the franchisee certain territorial rights, as detailed in Paragraph A of the franchise agreement. Browns Chicken agrees not to operate or grant a franchise for another Browns Chicken store within the franchisee's territory during the term of the agreement, provided the franchisee remains in full compliance with the agreement.
However, if the Browns Chicken store is located in a shopping mall food court, the franchisee will not have an exclusive territory. Browns Chicken retains all rights to the Browns Chicken stores, marks, and the sale of any products and services anywhere in the world, except as expressly limited by Paragraph A. This means that Browns Chicken can still engage in other business activities and sales methods, even within the franchisee's territory.
