What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the mandatory training program lasts approximately 8 weeks. This training is required for the franchisee (or a designated shareholder or partner if the franchisee is a corporation or partnership), one co-manager, and one part-time manager.
The Browns Chicken training program is conducted at a location determined by Browns Chicken, typically at an existing Browns Chicken restaurant. The training consists of both classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Browns Chicken will provide training materials such as charts, training videos, and situational manuals. The training is conducted by Tim Kennefick, who has extensive experience operating Browns Chicken restaurants.
The franchisee is responsible for all salary, travel, living, and other expenses incurred while attending the training program for themselves and their employees. While Browns Chicken may assist in training the store's employees before opening, they are not obligated to do so and do not provide this assistance to existing franchisees. The franchisee is ultimately responsible for hiring and training all store employees.
