What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Browns Chicken Franchise Disclosure Document, Browns Chicken franchisees face several limitations regarding the use of the Browns Chicken marks. Franchisees must adhere to the rules prescribed by Browns Chicken concerning the use of licensed marks.

Specifically, franchisees cannot use any mark as part of a corporate name or with any prefix, suffix, modifying words, terms, designs, or symbols, except for logos licensed to them. They are prohibited from using the marks in connection with the sale of unauthorized products or services. Additionally, franchisees cannot use the marks as part of a domain name or any electronic address of a website, or in any manner not explicitly authorized in writing by Browns Chicken.

Furthermore, franchisees are restricted from registering the marks on the Internet or any other computer on-line service, including platforms like YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter, for their own account. They cannot create and maintain their own website or Facebook listing (or similar electronic communication device) on the Internet using the marks, or use the marks on the Internet in any other manner. These limitations ensure that Browns Chicken maintains control over its brand and how it is represented in the marketplace, especially online.
