What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Designation of Authorized Representative' within the Guaranty and Assumption of Obligations serves to streamline communication between Browns Chicken and the franchisee. By designating an authorized representative, the franchisee specifies a single point of contact for all official notices and communications from Browns Chicken.
This means that Browns Chicken can provide notice to and communicate solely with the designated individual, and such communication is considered as if it were made directly to all parties involved in the agreement. This simplifies the process for Browns Chicken, ensuring that important information reaches the franchisee through a reliable channel without the need to contact multiple individuals.
For a prospective Browns Chicken franchisee, this designation requires careful consideration. The franchisee must choose someone who is consistently available and responsible for relaying information to the relevant parties within their organization. Failure to do so could result in missed deadlines, misunderstandings, or other issues related to the franchise agreement. This clause ensures clear lines of communication and accountability between Browns Chicken and its franchisees.
