What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for notifying Browns Chicken when the supply of franchise literature in the display racks is low. Browns Chicken will install the display racks and furnish the franchise literature at no charge to the franchisee. The franchisee is not responsible for paying for any of the literature or for the installation of the display racks. The franchisee must not obstruct the display racks.
This means that Browns Chicken provides the materials to help franchisees promote the franchise opportunity to potential new franchisees. It is the franchisee's responsibility to maintain the display and inform Browns Chicken when the literature needs to be replenished. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors typically provide marketing materials and expect franchisees to actively participate in promoting the brand.
By requiring franchisees to keep the display racks stocked and unobstructed, Browns Chicken aims to ensure that potential franchisees have easy access to information about the franchise opportunity. This helps Browns Chicken expand its franchise network while placing the responsibility of maintaining the display on the franchisee.
