What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Browns Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee (or a designated shareholder or partner if the franchisee is a corporation or partnership), one co-manager, and one part-time manager must attend and complete the mandatory training program to Brown's satisfaction. This training is required before the Browns Chicken store opens.

The Browns Chicken training program lasts approximately eight weeks. The training program includes classroom and "on-the-job" training, along with additional instruction that Browns Chicken deems appropriate. The training materials include charts, training videos, and situational manuals. Tim Kennefick, who has over 20 years of experience operating Browns Chicken restaurants, conducts the training.

The franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with attending the training program, including salary, travel, and living expenses for themselves and their employees. Browns Chicken may allow additional employees to enroll in the training program, but the franchisee will be charged an amount determined by Browns Chicken for each additional employee. Browns Chicken may also assist a new franchisee in training their store employees before opening, although they are not obligated to do so.
